A toxicology sample was submitted for analysis, but as of Dec. 19 the driver's impairment was unknown, and the crash remained under investigation.

Driver impairment suspected in fatal Louisiana crash

A deadly head-on collision on a Louisiana highway in Livingston Parish took the lives of both drivers involved in the crash. Authorities say neither driver was wearing a seat belt, and impairment may have contributed to the crash. The Louisiana State Police is conducting toxicology testing on submitted samples in its investigation of the accident.
